You may have heard about New Neighbors … or maybe this is all NEW to you … but in either case, you’re probably wondering what it is we have to offer you.  This is a thumbnail sketch about our activities.

On the second Wednesday of the month, we hold our GENERAL MEETING at 9:30 a.m. at EG United Methodist Church (new location!) at 1558 South County Trail..  Here we discuss the business of the club and sign up to participate in the various monthly activities.  We also have a PROGRAM.  Programs deal with a wide range of topics – from home decorating to skin care, from faux painting to breast cancer.  And a real plus – babysitting is provided on site by licensed sitters at a very minimal cost.

There are two BOOK BUFFS, which meet once a month – one group meets in the morning, the other in the evening.  These book clubs cover a wide range of readings with some very interesting discussions that are not limited to the book of the month.

BRIDGE is available to players of all levels; couples meet one Saturday evening a month.  Ladies will meet one morning and one evening each month.

BUNCO is a lively social event with a simple dice game thrown in for fun.  Bunco is scheduled one evening a month either as a couples or ladies-only event.  No skill is required, just luck.  A $5 fee for the evening covers the prizes.

Join the “girls” for our monthly CHICK FLICKS at a local theater to see a “woman-oriented” movie followed by a drink, snack and conversation at a nearby restaurant.

Several times a year, CHILDREN’S PARTIES are planned for your children’s entertainment.

FAMILY EVENTS!  Bring your spouse and the kids for a day or evening of fun.  This is a great way for members of your family to meet other new neighbors as well.   Events are held 2-3 times a year.

One of our most popular activities, FRIENDS FOR LUNCH, is a terrific way to try out your favorite recipes on a willing lunchtime crowd who gather every month in a member’s home bringing a dish or drink to share.  What a feast!

Escape with us once a month to a member’s home or event for an enjoyable evening of fun. GIRLS NIGHT OUT … sounds good, doesn’t it?

Another opportunity for you and your spouse to have a great meal and meet other couples is GOURMET CHEFS.  Held bi-monthly at different member’s homes, couples prepare dishes for a themed menu.  Members need not be accomplished gourmets, just willing to try new recipes!

HAPPY HOUR is a casual social gathering held at a different members's home throughout the year, usually on a Saturday night.  Everyone brings the beverages of their choice and either an appetizer or dessert to share with attending.  It is a great casual way to meet new members and couples and socialize with existing friends.

MAH JONGG – A popular morning group that meets regularly to play this ancient Chinese game played with tiles instead of cards.  The game is open to all … new players as well as Mah Jongg Mavens!

Moms! This is for you and your little ones … PLAYGROUP!  We plan weekly meetings (Wed & Thrs mornings and Tuesday afternoons) for Moms and toddlers. The jury is still out on who enjoys it more … the moms or the little ones!

Get those photo albums in order with SCRAPBOOKING – meet monthly at a member’s home and learn all the techniques from each other.

Want to spend some time working on stitching or other projects in a casual atmosphere?  Bring your projects and join us at STITCH AND CHATTER.  Groups meet mornings or evenings; members take turns hosting.  You don’t need to be an expert – the abilities and types of projects are as varied as the women who attend.

TENNIS -- An occasional round robin or regular meeting time allows you to meet other new neighbors with the same “LOVE” of the game.  Weather limits year-round play.

Broaden your horizons and learn about your new state and surrounding New England by joining TOURS for a day trip to places of interest.  Post tour, we will explore local restaurants with the group and still get home in time to meet the school bus.

Do you have a useful item to sell or trade?  Are you looking for a bargain?  Check out the TRADING POST to see what is available or to advertise your item.  Members can also post information on their personal business or service here.

WINE ENTUSIASTS - Wine Enthusiasts will meet bi-monthly for fun, casual wine tastings and food pairings.

As you can see – there’s something for everyone!  Join us, have fun, and most importantly, meet and make new friends!
